Our community has a better way to get rid of unused and expired medications! Many people flush prescription, over the counter and veterinary medications down their toilet in the past. It even sounded like a good way to keep medication away from children and pets. However, this is not the best method of disposal for these products. They have ingredients that can remain in the treated water when it is released into the water cycle.
Residents in our community can bring any unused or expired medicine, to a police substation listed below. Please place the pills in a plastic bag and drop the contents into the box. By safely disposing your medicine, you can help prevent drug abuse and protect the environment.
If you have any question about whether something can be put down the drain or toilet, please contact us at (702) 668-8065 or at publicinfo@cleanwaterteam.com.
